Professional and Academic Work

If you've found your way to this part of my website, then you're either lost, or you're interested in my academic and professional experiences for hiring or university acceptance purposes.

My name is Melissa and I'm 27 years old. Currently, I work as a project archivist at the Lutheran Archives Center at Philadelphia, but I hope to return to the archaeology/museum fields. I've got an undergraduate degree from the University of Glasgow in Archaeology and Classical Civilisations, as well as a Master's in Library and Information Science from Pratt Institute in New York. I am currently applying to graduate programs for ancient Greek archaeology-related programs, where I hope to focus on ancient Greek ceramics.

Throughout the pages listed below, you'll find links to other pages that will further detail my academic and professional experiences.

On this page you'll find a comprehensive list of my background, skills, and accomplishments. A downloadable PDF file is also included.

You'll find:

For my undergraduate degree, I attended the University of Glasgow in Scotland for Classical Civilisations and Archaeology. This page contains information about my studies, as well as course descriptions and PDF files of my coursework.

Then, for my Master's, I attended Pratt Institute in New York to get a degree in Library and Information Science. You'll find information about my studies, as well as course descriptions and PDF files of my work.

In order to graduate with my MLIS from Pratt, I was required to create a digital portfolio of what I deemed my best work. This page is what I submitted as my final project.

This is another Pratt-related page. In this case, for my Rare Books and Special Collections course I was tasked with creating an exhibition proposal for a topic I was interested in.
